Chelsea presents a diverse selection of piano music by multigenerational, contemporary Black composers. The program features new pieces commissioned for AMP by Joyce Solomon Moorman, Carolyn Yarnell, Regina Harris Baiocchi and Anthony R. Green, based on poetry by Chelsea’s great uncle, the poet and editor Dudley Randall, Sonia Sanchez and Nikki Giovanni, as well as works by AMP’s 2025 Call for Scores winners Mikhail Johnson and Marc Douyon, and emerging composer Moon Cove in partnership with Luna Composition Lab.
